How to view condition maps in the updated Weather app in iOS 15

Among the cool updates that iOS 15 brought in September is an upgraded weather app with some cool and useful features. One of these is a new precipitation map that will show you exactly where it’s raining (or it’ll snow or snow) in your area – or anywhere.

You can also view temperature and air quality maps in the same way. We will show you how.

New features of the Weather app

The additions to Apple’s Weather app are most likely a direct result of the company’s acquisition of the popular Dark Sky weather app last year.

To view the weather maps of precipitation, temperature and Air Quality Index (AQI), you naturally have to use iOS 15. It’s easy to update your iPhone’s operating system, luckily. . We will include it in the steps below.

How to view condition maps in the Weather app

Where and when will it rain?

  1. If you haven’t updated your iPhone to iOS 15 yet, you can do so by going to Settings > General > Software update.
  2. Open the Weather app (it is preinstalled on every iPhone).
  3. Click on the small map icon in the lower left corner of the screen.
  4. Click on the three small ones, stacked squares at the top right of the screen.
  5. To choose Temperature, Precipitation Where Air quality.
  6. The chosen map will appear with the current conditions.
  7. To move through time on the precipitation map, move the forecast bar to 12 hours at the bottom of the screen on the left or right. This shows all of the falling precipitation clouds moving across the region over the next half day.
  8. Each card shows a gauge top left showing colors for severity of conditions.
  9. You can also enlarge Where Zoom out using a fingertip pinch gesture to see varying levels of weather detail.
