IBEDC Relaunches Cards, Says Customers Have Choice To Pay For Meters
Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) Plc has relaunched the Meter Asset Provider Scheme (MAPS) as part of efforts to ensure meter deployment across its franchise. The electricity distribution company in a statement by the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Ing. John Ayodele said the meter rollout would begin immediately, following a directive issued by the National Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to give customers the choice of purchasing meters.
According to the COO, “we are officially announcing the reinstatement of the Meter Asset Provider Scheme for customers who urgently need meters and are ready to pay them.”
Ing. Ayodele said customers can register for MAP meters online through msms.ibedc.com or visit any IBEDC office, after which a unique ID will be generated for a technical assessment of the customer’s premises. Upon successful completion of the technical evaluation, payment can be made at any bank branch and the customer will be measured within ten business days of payment.
He further explained that the prices of these meters are as stipulated and approved by NERC. He stated that IBEDC obtained the services of the following MAP providers to measure the allocated portions of our franchise, namely Mojec International Limited for Ogun State customers, Protogy Global Service for Ogun State customers. ‘Oyo, Integrated Resources Limited (IRL) for customers in Osun State and finally CWG Plc will supply meters to customers in Kwara State.
“Customers should not pay directly to anyone to avoid being scammed, and please note that no application or processing fees are required” Engr. Ayodele reprimanded.
He further urged our many clients to join the program early in order to avoid estimated billing, which has always been a problem.
