TUD public hearing on new district maps

Sonora, CA – The Tuolumne Utility District hopes to hear from the public about the new district boundaries being developed for council representatives.

We reported earlier that the district is transitioning from the current general election system to one in which trustees represent a specific geographic region (similar to the County Board of Supervisors). The move is to ensure the district is in compliance with current state laws.

The district has hired an outside firm to develop a handful of different options, and they will be discussed in a public hearing at Tuesday’s 9 a.m. board meeting.

You can consult the different proposals by clicking here.

The meeting will also present an update on the construction of the Sonora Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Details on joining the meeting can be found here.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Board of Directors will meet in camera so that they can further discuss negotiations with PG&E regarding the acquisition of infrastructure and water rights.
